The Student Delegate Program for the 29th San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival (SFIAAFF) is now accepting applications!

The Student Delegate Program is an exclusive opportunity for six undergraduate and graduate college students to work together to reflect and talk about Asian and Asian American film and media during the 29th San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival (March 10-20, 2011). Selected students will receive a Festival Guest Pass and have the opportunity to:

• Follow a structured schedule of film screenings and exclusive meetings with filmmakers and industry guests
  
• Access other Festival events such as panels and parties.
  
• Create content for the Festival website, such as articles, blogs and videos.
  
• Collaborate with other Student Delegates on a group project.

We encourage students from all colleges/universities in both film and non-film disciplines to apply. The most important qualities we seek in a candidate are a love for film and desire to share this passion, the ability to interact with other students and festival guests, and a willingness to follow a rigorous program of screenings and discussions. Directed by Benjamin Wong and produced by PACT and Ken Choy, the PSA includes Sue Jin, Francois Chao, Megan Lee and Jully Lee. Longer versions include Randall Park and Jae Suh, Elizabeth Sung, Steve Nguyen, Aki Aleong, and Tzi Ma.

The Writers Guild of Canada and CTV have come together to bring more diverse writers into the talent pool of Canadian screenwriting. The CTV Diverse Screenwriters Program reaches out to offer emerging and mid-career writers from diverse backgrounds the chance to hone the skills they need to become successful professional screenwriters. And one writer will come out of the program with a paid internship in a CTV conventional television or specialty service series.

The program will offer up to eight writers a one-week intensive workshop in Toronto in March 2011. Featuring lectures, guest speakers, screenings, and more, the workshop will launch the writers' development of their original script. After the workshop, each writer will partner with an experienced screenwriter mentor to hone their script and pitch, finishing the program with a polished calling card to the industry. In addition, one writer will be selected for a paid internship in a writers' room on a CTV conventional television or specialty service show.
